League City Father Honors and Remembers His Son

In honor of Father’s Day, one League City father is remembering the legacy his son has left behind. Craig’s son Tyler was a kind, hard-working 19-year-old whose greatest loves included baseball and his family. He cared deeply for his sister with special needs – even accepting an athletic scholarship closer to home so that he could be near her. After a season-ending injury and the COVID pandemic upended normalcy, Tyler decided to follow in his family’s footsteps and work in construction, an area he absolutely loved.

Tyler was selfless, wise beyond his years, and a deeply caring young man. He registered to be an organ donor at age 16 when he received his driver’s license. Tyler’s dad, Craig, shares that Tyler’s decision to register speaks volumes about his maturity and love for people. Through that generosity, he gave the gift of life to four other people as an organ donor and healed many more through tissue donation. His family has been able to write and even meet some of the grateful recipients of Tyler’s lifesaving gifts. His family spends holidays and special occasions with their son’s kidney and pancreas recipients, considering them to be an extended part of their own family.

Although Tyler’s family misses him dearly, they know his memory, character, and loving nature live on through the lives he has saved and through the stories his friends and family continue to share. His loved ones, and especially his brave dad, take comfort this Father’s Day knowing they will see Tyler again and they will continue to share the beautiful legacy he has left behind.
