Glenda Dawson Donate Life - Texas Registry Registro De Texas Glenda Dawson - Dona Vida

Glenda Dawson Donate Life Texas Registry

In 2005, The Donor Education, Awareness, and Registry (D.E.A.R.) Program of Texas was created as a means for individuals to signify their intent to make an anatomical gift when they die.  The program was renamed to the Glenda Dawson Donate Life Texas Registry in memory of State Representative and kidney transplant recipient, Glenda Dawson for her contributions to promote organ, tissue and eye donation in Texas.

Operated by the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Registry is a database containing the names of individuals who have expressed their desire to donate organs, tissues or eyes upon their death.

For more information about the Glenda Dawson Donate Life Texas Registry or to register as an organ, tissue and eye donor, please visit the Registry’s new website at

What Becoming a Donor Can Do

Organ Donated : Cornea
Result : Renewed sight.

"Without my sight, I could never do the things I need to do at work. I handle the media relations for my city's Park and Recreation department. I am so grateful to my donor's family for helping me to see again."

Andrea Hawkins speaks publicly on behalf of Southwest Transplant Alliance about her experience with donation and transplantation.
