Supervisor, Regional Organ Recovery Coordinator

OVERVIEW

Responsibility for regional day-to-day activities related to recovering organs and tissues, including but not limited to hospital development activities, potential donor referrals, donor evaluation, family support, authorization process, and comprehensive donor management. The position will also facilitate the general activities required throughout the donor recovery period under the direction of the medical director, clinical management team, and the lead recovery surgeon present in the operating room.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Associates degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • CPTC certification and 3 or more years of OPO experience in a clinical Organ Recovery/Procurement Coordinator role required.

  • Prior experience as a preceptor in a clinical setting required.

  • Prior leadership experience in a clinical setting preferred

  • Expert knowledge of OPO standards & OPTN policy related to OPO responsibilities and organ allocation.

  • Must be able to simultaneously execute upon multiple complex processes, provide accurate documentation, and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow in order to ensure compliance with established policies and timelines.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required. Ability to handle a fast-paced and heavy workload.

  • Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft, or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
