Grant applications must be submitted within 12 months of the patient’s transplant date.
Transplant recipients must have received an organ from a deceased donor. Living donor recipients do not qualify.
Each grant recipient may receive up to $600 in financial support from the STA Foundation. Funding may be awarded as one grant of $600 or two separate grants of $300 each. Once an applicant has reached the $600 maximum, they will no longer be eligible to receive additional funding.
Statement of need or attached bill must reflect at least $600 if applying for the max amount of $600. Requests must be in the following categories:
Medical expenses
Utility bills
Transportation-related costs
Only Social Workers or Transplant Coordinators from the patient’s transplant center can apply and sign-off on the grant application.
Each recipient can receive two grants totaling $600.

The timing from the date of the application submission to the mailed check can take up to 31 business days.
After submission, the STA Foundation will review the application. Please allow up to 7-10 business days for the review.
After the application is reviewed and all details are accounted for, the funds will be processed. A check can take up to 7 –10 business days to process.
After the check is processed, it will then be placed in the mail and addressed to the Social Worker or Transplant Coordinator at the transplant center address provided in the application. Please note that the mailed check can take up to 5-7 days to reach you.
If there is anything out of the norm in your application, please make note of it in the narrative portion of the form. We appreciate any details and/or relevant updates about the patient’s need to better understand the urgency of the request.
