SIMPLE STEPS TO FOLLOW
mAXIMIZE YOUR FUNDRAISING
Start Strong
It’s always a good idea to start your fundraising off by making the first contribution. This will inspire and motivate others to get involved.
Get personal - add your “Why”
Once you have set up your fundraising page or event, get personal! Add photos, quotes and a personal story to your communication pieces. Let your family and friends know why donation matters to you, and why you want their support - that’s what they care about most! Included below are email templates for reference.
Start with your inner circle
It’s best to connect with your closests contacts first because they are most likely to support you. Try sending personal messages to your “inner circle” to help build up the momentum and use your customized email templates to reach other contacts.
Get Social
Once you’ve sent your first round of emails, it’s time to get your social on. One of the best strategies to use on both Facebook and Twitter is tagging and thanking people that have already contributed to your page while asking for new contributions. This encourages others and helps spread your message while letting your contacts know that others are behind it!
Host a fundraising event
You can coordinate fundraising and awareness events to benefit your fundraising goal. Some examples include anniversary celebrations, sporting events, or “friendraisers.” The options are endless and completely up to you! STA can provide branded marketing materials, volunteer support, and can promote on our social media platforms. Find more information here.
keep up the thanks and the social
As more of your network joins in, continue to thank them on social media and make sure to share the progress towards your goal. Fundraising takes time, creativity, and persistence, but if it’s important to you, it’s important to those around you.
You’re making a difference! THANK YOU!
