Southwest Transplant Alliance Honored as D CEO Excellence in Healthcare Finalist

Southwest Transplant Alliance, one of the nation’s largest organ procurement organizations, was honored as a finalist in D CEO’s 2025 Excellence in Healthcare Awards. The annual awards recognize Dallas-Fort Worth healthcare leaders and organizations for their achievements and impact on the North Texas economy.

STA was honored in the Achievement in Innovation category, which recognizes companies that implement technology, devices, software, systems, initiatives, or other programs that push the envelope of healthcare delivery in North Texas.

D CEO recognized STA as a standout leader in the organ donation space and among health care industry peers, thanks to its unique combination of operational excellence, adoption of cutting-edge technology and measurable impact on organ donation and transplantation.

In 2025, STA became one of the first OPOs to adopt the OrganOx system, extending liver viability and increasing the potential of each donation. In just the first six weeks of using the OrganOx technology, STA preserved seven livers that might have otherwise gone unused, demonstrating a rapid and measurable impact of innovation.
